We have a field trip coming up on April 5 to Orchard Pond Farm. Our scholars will finish out our theme unit on habitats by visiting and learning all about a farm habitat. We will tour the grounds (field, equipment, greenhouse, compost, processing area, kitchen, and beehives), pick strawberries, and sample fresh honey. A link to the script app permission slip will be sent out via email very soon and posted to the website.
Last week we changed up our word work station during literacy centers. During the week the owls will get a Bingo sheet with options of activities they may choose to work on during library and word work. As they finish the activities a sakekeeper will initial that box on the Bingo sheet. This gives the students an opportunity to make their own choices on how they would like to practice their sight words. If you would like to practice the sight words at home the list is posted below.

Where: SASC Theater
This event is FREE of charge and is open to all SASC parents/guardians. NO childcare will be provided. Visit www.sascpta.org and select "Volunteer" to sign-up to attend the event. Workshop Information The School of Arts and Sciences at The Centre has been working with Nicole Mercer on implementing Conscious Discipline into the structure of their school family since 2015. Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive management program and social-emotional curriculum based on current brain research, child development information and developmentally appropriate practices. Conscious Discipline has been specifically designed to make changes in the lives of adults first. The adults, in turn, change the lives of children. It is unique from other ways of guidance because it teaches new skills to the adults first, and the children second, empowering adults to become the mindful teachers and parents you want to be. Responses to conflict and misbehavior in a Conscious Discipline classroom are drastically different than the norm. We invite you to join us for an evening of learning more about Conscious Discipline. This workshop will provide you with an overview.
